Not all CBD products are created equal.

1 – Always check the label

The first thing to look out for is disclosure on the COA, or Certificate of Analysis. The COA tells you the quality of the CBD source, listing key information such as potency, microbial analysis, solvents, and any testing done for heavy metals and pesticides.

Remember – the hemp plant absorbs everything that’s in the soil, which means the good and the bad. The COA will show what chemicals/compounds may be found in the hemp used, giving you an idea of its health.

2 – Hemp vs. Marijuana

There’s a difference, and it’s critical: Hemp and marijuana are both cannabis plants, but hemp has higher levels of CBD and lower levels of THC (the chemical compound that gets you high) than a marijuana plant. In fact, the federally legal definition of hemp requires the plant to contain no more than 0.3% of THC. Marijuana does contain some CBD, which means you’ll get its effects when you use it, but of course marijuana is highly regulated and can only be purchased through dispensaries where legal.

3 – Know what you want

Do your research before buying. The CBD world is your oyster. There’s plenty of options out there which is why it’s important to make sure you research the company that you’re buying from before purchasing.

With it’s calming properties, adding CBD to your self-care routine will no doubt enhance your overall experience.

I’ve talked many times about how to create a self-care routine because it helps you care for yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.

It’s a simple way to say “YOU MATTER” to yourself every day.

Adding CBD to your self-care routine is about making time throughout the day to check-in with yourself and make sure that you are feeling your best.

The one thing I cannot stress enough is an important fact that there is no ‘right way’ to do self-care. Everyone has their own way and thats beautiful.

1 – Add CBD to your daily supplement routine.

2 – Add CBD to your skincare routine.

3 – Add CBD to your food and drinks.

4 – Add CBD to your bedtime ritual.

5- Use CBD as a relief management tool.

CBD needs to be used as a tool, in conjunction with a variety of other modalities and supplements. This includes good sleep, proper nutrition, meditation, rest, movement etc.
